Assisted with the Prevention of Significant Deterioration (PSD) applicability determination and preparation of the corresponding permit application and air quality impact analysis inclusive of:

• Assistance with pre-application meetings with the regulatory agency.

• Obtaining representative background concentrations and meteorological data for AERMOD and CALPUFF modeling. 

• Preparing emission calculations for project sources.

• Conducting initial AERMOD runs to estimate the radius of impact and prepare an emissions inventory of nearby facilities to include in the cumulative impact analysis.

• Conducting an analysis to determine which Class I Areas to include in the modeling analysis.

• Preparation and submittal of Class I and Class II Areas modeling protocols to the regulatory agency.

• Conducting preliminary AERMOD runs to determine best plant layout, ambient air boundary, and emissions controls to achieve compliance with ambient air standards.

• Conducting final AERMOD modeling to demonstrate compliance with the NAAQS and Class II Area PSD Increments. 

• Conducting CALPUFF modeling to demonstrate compliance with the Class I Area PSD Increments and AQRVs.

• Preparation and submittal of PSD permit application and air quality impact analysis report to the regulatory agency. 

Through a collaborative effort between Aquionix, the client and state and federal agencies, the culmination of the results of the air dispersion modelling and many other elements of the project were successfully incorporated into the final permit application for submittal to the state agency.
